Prince Félix

Prince Félix Léopold Marie Guillaume was born on 3 June 1984 at the Grand Duchess Charlotte Hospital in Luxembourg. He is the second son of Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg. Prince Félix has one older brother, Prince Guillaume, and three younger siblings, Prince Louis, Princess Alexandra and Prince Sébastien.

Prince Félix attended the primary school of Lorentzweiler, and continued his secondary education at the Ecole Privée Notre-Dame Sainte-Spohie and the American School of Luxembourg. He obtained his secondary school degree “with distinction” at the Collège Alpin International Beau Soleil in Villars-sur-Ollon, Switzerland, in 2003. In that same year he enrolled at Sandhurst Military Academy, but due to an injury at his knee he was unable to complete his education there.

Prince Félix continued to study Political Sciences, Communication and Psychology at various schools in England and Belgium. He has also completed interships at several companies. He has worked in Switzerland for a PR company, but will follow a Master’s Degree in Bioethics in Rome as of October 2009. In the mean time, he continues to work freelance.

Prince Félix is Honorary President of the Luxembourg Basketball Federation and is the Patron of the Cercle Para Luxembourg – a parachute club.

In his free time, Prince Félix plays tennis, football and volleyball. He also enjoys athletics, golf and basketball. He is also very talented in snow sports, such as acrobatic ski, classical slalom, giant slalom and snowboarding. For five years, the Prince was elected “best athlete” of his highschool.

Prince Félix speaks Luxembourgish, French, English and German, but he also has some notions of Spanish.

Prince Félix is Knight in the Order of the Golden Lion of Nassau.
