Crown Princess Victoria gave birth to a daughter early this morning. She was taken to Karolinska University Hospital shortly after midnight, accompanied by Prince Daniel. Although the birth was not expected until next month, and the Princess was still carrying out engagements on Tuesday, Palace spokesman Bertil Ternert said that everything was going normally and that there were no problems.
The Swedish court announced Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel are expecting their first child. The Crown Princess is expected to give birth in March 2012. The couple and the whole Swedish royal family are delighted to share the news with their country.
The times are changing, and – taking in account the age of many of the monarchs worldwide – it is safe to assume that the coming years, we will see at least a few changes in the succession lines.
